Kristen Bell Shared The Solid Marriage Advice She Gave A Couple Before Their Wedding

"Stay vulnerable with each other."

Kristen Bell marked Valentine's Day by doling out some great advice for married couples on social media. The Good Place actress explained that she was writing a congratulatory note to a couple getting married, when she thought to herself, "Kristen! Wait! You are an old married woman, shouldn't you have some wisdom to share?!"

Bell calls her handwritten list "the A-Z of how [husband Dax Shepard] and I keep our relationship healthy." The note begins with the message to "stay vulnerable with each other," and goes on to remind couples to take time apart, support each other's interests, love each other in spite of "faults, failings or character defects," and remember that "life is a crazy ride. It's a privilege to go through it with a partner."

"Know that everyone is doing the best they can with what they've got," Bell wrote in closing. "So get a bigger emotional tool box to fix your problems."

Bell and Shepard have been dating since 2007 and married since 2013, and they have two daughters together. After sharing her advice, Bell also posted a Valentine's Day tribute to her husband on Instagram, sharing several photos of them together over the years and writing the following message:

To the man who I've known for an eternity yet learn new things about everyday; who has been with me through thick and thin(and loved my 47lbs of baby weight); who is as interested in PDA as I am; who tattooed my last name on his ring finger beacuse [sic] he hates jewelry; who always puts up our Xmas lights; and who never fails to mock my red carpet pose. I love u with my whole ♥️

Shepard has previously offered up his own relationship advice to the audience of The Ellen Show, on everything from how to tell a friend you don't feel the same way about them to whether it's a good idea to hook up with an ex.

"It's too easy, it's too comfortable," Shepard said of the hookup question. "It'll prevent you from actually getting in a relationship which I assume that's what you want, but if you don't want that, keep doing it. It is very convenient."

Between this and their adorable homemade music videos, Bell and Shepard are really solidifying their status as relationship goals.
