Best Man Takes Hilarious 'Third Wheel' Photos With The Couple On Their Wedding Day

"We just wanted to make people laugh!"

Weddings mark a new chapter in life for the couple, and often for their friends and family who have to adjust to their new dynamic. This can sometimes prove difficult for people closest to the couple, especially best friends, who can start to feel a bit left out of the love-fest.

This concept is perfectly captured in Brittney and Kody Frysinger's engagement photos because they decided to include Kody's best friend and Best Man, Mitch Jolliff. The hilarious "third wheel" photos were taken by Lindsey Berger of Country Roads Photography and capture the couple kissing as Jolliff makes a kissy face at his friend.

In the photo, "I do" is written across the couple's boots, but Jolliff's boots have a "n-t" to change the meaning of the whole phrase.

Berger explained to A Plus via email that the bride-to-be initially came to her ahead of the engagement portrait session with best friend-inspired images from Pinterest, and asked to include Jolliff.

On the Arlington, Ohio couple's big day, Berger realized that the three of them were wearing the same boots from the engagement series, so she asked if they'd like to do a follow-up of the original engagement photo with a wedding photo.

And everyone was more than happy to do it.

"I thought, how fun would it be to do a follow-up and show everyone how Mitch was handling the wedding!" Berger wrote, "I explained to them what I wanted, and then Mitch just owned the photo! He just made my vision come to life in a way I never could have imagined, and I am so grateful for that!"

The resulting photo shows the newlyweds kissing with Jolliff pouting beside them. The bride's boots have "I won" written on the sole, while Joliff's say "Shut up."

While Jolliff might look upset in the wedding day photos, the mood at the photo shoot was actually very fun and funny, according to Berger. Jolliff had a great time with the photos, even though he isn't keen on having his picture taken.

"These kids are just so much fun to be around and they would do anything I asked of them. And those are best types of clients — people who do not take themselves too seriously, and know how to have a good time," the photographer explained. "We weren't trying to impress anyone, we just wanted to make people laugh!"

The engagement and wedding photos were shared on the Love What Matters Facebook page on June 20 and went viral thanks to the hilarious "odd man out" theme. As of June 27, they have received over 21,000 likes.

Berger reveals that she feels the photos went viral because they are actually very relatable. "There are so many people out there that can relate to this, whether they are the third wheel in their friend's relationship, or they have a third wheel in theirs," she stated. "I just hope, whether they want to admit it or not, it made them laugh ... just spreading happiness instead of tragedy and sadness!"

"We are just having a fun time showing that third wheels are fun, funny, and absolutely necessary!"

She hopes that people who view the "third wheel" photos have fun with them — just like the trio in the photographs — and they not take themselves too seriously.

As for those who are concerned about Jolliff's happy ending, he has a girlfriend. And there were already potential plans to continue the photo series to incorporate his love story even before the images went viral. Berger revealed, "We even discussed doing more updates, such as Mitch getting engaged sometime in the future to his girlfriend, or Kody and Brittney getting pregnant."
