Kelly Clarkson Proves She Can Make Anything Sound Good In Carpool Karaoke

There's even a cameo from her husband.

It's hard to believe Kelly Clarkson had never appeared in Carpool Karaoke with James Corden, but this week it finally happened. The original American Idol winner joined the Late Late Show host on the road, and they joined forces on just about all the hits you would ever want to hear — from the classic "Since U Been Gone" to the more recent "Love So Soft."

Corden proposes that Clarkson has a voice that can make anything sound good, so he challenges her to sing a mundane checkout conversation. "Do you want the receipt?" she belts out. "You can put it in the bag!"

Clarkson also shares the lullaby she sings to her son, and talks about being mentioned in Hillary Clinton's book, alongside Friedrich Nietzsche, who Corden jokes "won Philosopher's Idol." Of course they then go on to sing Clarkson's hit "Stronger."

Eventually, Carpool Karaoke turns into Carpool Date Night, as Corden reveals he set up a romantic scene for Clarkson and her husband Brandon Blackstock in the backseat, complete with sparkling apple juice, chocolate-covered strawberries, and a violinist. Unfortunately, Blackstock ruins the moment (and draws Corden's ire) with an NSFW comment. Well, at least they tried.
