Katy Perry Proves That The Only Dress Code To Vote Is Not Being Naked

She woke up like this.

Tuesday was National Voter Registration Day. To encourage Americans to make their voices heard this November, singer Katy Perry joined Funny or Die's Everyone Votes campaign in a risqué new video that reminds us "there is no dress code this election day."

Perry wakes up looking pretty messy, complete with candy and popcorn stuck to her hair. She doesn't mention what she was up to the night before, but we imagine it was something like her "Last Friday Night" video.

As Perry explains, it doesn't matter that she doesn't exactly look her best. "Yep, I've briefly scanned the Constitution, and nowhere does it say you can't just roll out of bed and come to the polls in whatever state you woke up in."

That includes all kinds of sleeping attire, from a child's onesie to "covered in slime" (we won't ask).

"Or, if you're like me," Perry adds, "I sleep naked."

As she soon learns, however, voting in the buff is frowned upon by the authorities. "Scratch that," she says from the back of a cop car next to fellow offender Joel McHale. "Gotta wear clothes. My bad. See you at the polls November 8!"

Watch the entire ordeal in the video below and don't forget to register to vote.
