They Waited 9 Whole Months To Tell Grandma They're Pregnant. The Baby Was Due The Very Next Day.

"I was just completely floored."

After enduring two miscarriages, Katie and Tannin Pease wanted to wait to ensure everything was OK before telling their friends and family they were expecting their third child — deemed a rainbow baby, or a baby conceived after a miscarriage.

In the end, the couple ended up waiting nine whole months before revealing the news to the baby's paternal grandmother, Carolynn Pease.

The couple was able to keep such a huge secret because they live in Roy, UT, while Carolynn lives in Montana. When Katie would communicate with her mother-in-law on Skype, she'd make sure to wear baggy clothes that concealed her stomach. The couple also changed their social media settings so tagged photos of them would require approval before posting. That way nothing could spoil the big reveal.

On the day before Katie's due date, they invited Carolynn to the house, who was absolutely shocked to see her daughter-in-law pregnant. The bigger news came when she was told the baby was meant to be born the very next day.

Tannin posted the video of their baby announcement on Facebook. In it, Carolynn looks clearly stunned, despite already having 10 grandkids.

To make the surprise even better, Tannin and Katie revealed that their baby was due on Carolynn's birthday.

After hearing the exciting pregnancy announcement, Carolynn told ABC News, "I didn't really expect to hear anything this soon especially with the last miscarriage they had, which was traumatic," she added, "I was just completely floored. I feel really elated because they've [had] a hard time and I was really excited for them. I thought the whole thing was very thoughtful to surprise me."

On Feb. 20, one day after Carolynn's birthday, Tannin and Katie welcomed Saul Pease. He joins big brothers Cooper, 4, and Gray, 2 and he is Carolynn's 11th grandchild.
