The Touching Way Kaley Cuoco Remembered TV Dad John Ritter On Anniversary Of His Death

"Love you forever, John!"

In an oh-so-sweet Instagram post, Kaley Cuoco paid tribute to John Ritter — one of America's most beloved sitcom stars who just so happened to be one of her TV dads — on the 15-year anniversary of his death.

"15 years … love you forever, John!" the Big Bang Theory star wrote alongside a photo of her kissing his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on September 11. "#johnritter you still make me laugh every single day."

This is a beautiful sentiment as the two starred together as father and daughter on ABC's 8 Simple Rules, which was based on W. Bruce Cameron's book 8 Simple Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughter (the show's original name). During production on the second season in 2003, Ritter passed away suddenly from an aortic dissection and, after a hiatus, the show continued on without him and had his character die, too. Cuoco and the rest of the cast — including Katey Sagal, Amy Davidson, Martin Spanjers, and David Spade — carried on to finish up the show's three-season run, but kept Ritter's spirit alive.

Prior to winning our hearts on 8 Simple Rules, Ritter starred on shows such as The Waltons, Hooperman, and Hearts Afire, but he is best known for playing the Emmy-winning role of Jack Tripper on Three's Company from 1977 to 1984, reprising the character on the spin-off Three's a Crowd for its only season. In addition, Ritter provided the voice of the titular pup on Clifford the Big Red Dog in the early aughts.

We will forever have Ritter's past projects to laugh along with, but it's nice to see people like Cuoco remember the mark he left on pop culture and all of our lives.
