Twitter Is Happy To See John McCain Spending Time With Family And Friends Following Cancer Diagnosis

"I'll be back soon."

The recent announcement of Sen. John McCain's brain cancer diagnosis was met with an outpouring of support on Twitter from his colleagues, loved ones, and strangers. Over the weekend, the well wishes continued as McCain shared updates on social media.

As photos show, McCain is staying active and spending time outdoors in his home state of Arizona. "Enjoying Zebra Falls in beautiful Oak Creek, #Arizona today with my friend Joe Harper," the 80-year-old lawmaker captioned an image on Sunday.

On Saturday, McCain's daughter Meghan shared a photo of herself and her father resting on a bench during a hike, thanking supporters for their well wishes. The senator shared the same image on his Instagram account, writing, "Great hike with @meghanmccain in beautiful #Arizona this morning - thanks for all your messages of support!"

Following the announcement of her father's cancer last week, Meghan McCain shared a touching tribute on Twitter. "Cancer may afflict him in many ways," she said."But it will not make him surrender. Nothing ever has."

Proving his daughter right, McCain thanked everyone for their support the morning after his office released the initial statement about his health, and added that "unfortunately for my sparring partners in Congress, I'll be back soon."

Twitter users were happy to see such promising updates from the McCain family this weekend, and commented as much on both photos. Many reiterated their support and shared just how important it is to spend time with loved ones during these times.

"Enjoy the time with your dad. I wish I had more time with mine," one user commented. Another told the senator, "Glad to see you taking advantage of the healing power of nature."
