This Candid Image Of Joe Biden Talking With A Homeless Man Is Going Viral

"Character is about what you do when no one is watching."

A candid photo of Joe Biden talking with a homeless man is going viral and earning praise for the former vice president this weekend. Taken outside a movie theater in Washington, D.C., the image was posted to Facebook Friday and has since earned, as of publication, nearly 100,000 shares and more than 87,000 likes.

Per Politico, Biden was at the Georgetown AMC with his granddaughter when he struck up a conversation with a man sitting on the steps outside. Caleb Baca snapped a photo of the two in conversation, which was then shared by Paul Equale on social media.

"I'm not exactly sure what he gave the homeless man, but he appeared to write something down on a piece of paper inside the movie theater, which he then proceeded to give the homeless man outside," Baca told FOX 5.

Since leaving the White House, Biden has continued his work with the Biden Cancer Initiative and It's On Us, a campaign that was launched by former President Barack Obama to raise awareness of sexual assault on college campuses, and has remained a central figure of the Democratic Party. While Biden has not given a definite answer to whether he will be running for president in 2020, he has lent his voice to campaign for his party's candidates in upcoming elections, including the House special election in Pennsylvania this Tuesday.

"Joe Biden took his granddaughter to the movies in Georgetown last night.....on his way out he stopped to speak w/ a homeless man," Equale wrote on the Facebook post. "A bystander took this candid shot. Character is about what you do when no one is watching."
