Joe Biden Tweeted Support For Fellow 'Veep' Julia Louis-Dreyfus After Her Breast Cancer Announcement

"We Veeps stick together."

On Thursday, Emmy-winning actress Julia Louis-Dreyfus shared on social media that she has breast cancer, and used her platform to call for universal health care, so more women can have insurance like hers. Fans and co-stars tweeted an outpouring of love and support for the star following her announcement.

She also received a sweet message from former Vice President Joe Biden. Louis-Dreyfus is well-known for portraying (and winning awards for) the fictional Vice President Selina Meyer on HBO's comedy series Veep, so Biden was a fitting source of support — and he tweeted the message like only Joe Biden could.

"We Veeps stick together," Biden wrote on Twitter, accompanied by an image of him and Louis-Dreyfus donning sunglasses in a sketch for the 2014 White House Correspondents' Dinner. "Jill and I, and all of the Bidens, are with you, Julia."

The tweet has received tens of thousands of retweets and more than 200,000 likes since Biden posted it Thursday evening. Louis-Dreyfus also responded to the message, tweeting, "@JoeBiden yes we do. Love back to all of you."

In their White House Correspondents' Dinner sketch, Biden picks up Louis-Dreyfus' character Selina and helps her sneak into the West Wing, where the two veeps tour the Oval Office and get busted eating ice cream by First Lady Michelle Obama.

Later, they catch Nancy Pelosi getting a tattoo and opt for some matching ink of their own. Anyone who loves either Veep or the once ubiquitous Joe Biden memes is sure to get a kick out of the bit. It's true — veeps really do stick together.
