Jennifer Garner Had A Relatable Reaction To Seeing Her Own Movie In Theaters

"Did they like it?"

Have you seen Jennifer Garner's new movie Peppermint yet? If so, you may have been in the theater with Garner herself, as the actress recently attended a screening with fans — although she purposely didn't draw too much attention to herself.

Garner posted a video of her experience on Instagram, and it's totally relatable. She explains in the post's caption that the studio encouraged her to see with film "with an audience," adding that she "learned something about myself on this experiment— I am a chicken."

"I have never done this before, and now I know why," Garner says at the start of the clip, before trying to hide behind her movie tickets. "I'm afraid people are gonna hate the movie and take pity on me, [or] see me and think I'm just obsessed with myself."

At least one fan liked the movie, as he walked up to shake Garner's hand afterward and told her it was "amazing." However, other fans didn't really get a chance to talk to her, as she hid in a dark corner while the theater emptied. "Did they like it?" she whispered over her shoulder.

Garner regularly posts similarly down-to-earth content on her social media. Earlier this year, she shared a photo of herself helping her daughters sell Girl Scout cookies outside a grocery store. She even channeled her inner band geek to perform "Happy Birthday" on the saxophone for her friend Reese Witherspoon.

"Thank you to everyone who spent their weekend and their hard earned money with #RileyNorth and me," Garner wrote to close her latest post. "If you go this week— you never know— I may be lurking behind a curtain at a theater near you."
