Instead Of Carpool Karaoke, James Corden Set Jenna Dewan Up With A 'Seatbelt Psychic'

"It's actually kind of crowded back there."

James Corden came up with an interesting alternative to Carpool Karaoke when Jenna Dewan came on The Late Late Show this week. The host set her up with "Seatbelt Psychic" Thomas John, a medium who hosts a show on Lifetime in which he gives readings to ride-share passengers.

Corden stressed that John had no idea Dewan would be his passenger. When she learned of the situation, the actress was open to what he had to say. "It's actually kind of crowded back there," John joked, before speaking to Dewan about several relatives who had passed.

Dewan was amazed by how much John seemed to know about her family members, from her grandfather whom she never knew to her grandmother Elizabeth, who inspired her daughter Everly's middle name. She got emotional as John spoke about her grandparents as "soulmates."

"This is the message I'm supposed to give you is that soulmates in life take on many different forms," he said, adding that they do not have to be romantic. He went on to share, "You can go forward in confidence knowing that there's a lot of support for the decisions you're making."

Entertainment Tonight points out that this may be meaningful considering Dewan announced her split from husband Channing Tatum earlier this year. Whether or not you believe in psychics, it's clear the experience was a powerful one for Dewan, who called it "the best surprise of my life."
