Every Little Girl Should Hear Hoda Kotb's Beautiful Letter To Her Adopted Daughter

"Your back: I've got it; always."

After adopting her baby girl in February, Today host Hoda Kotb penned an incredibly sweet letter with all her positive wishes and advice for her daughter, Hayley.

The letter, part of Today Style's Love Your Body series, details Kotb's thoughts about her "perfectly put-together" Hayley, and the ways her daughter should view each part of her body in a deep and meaningful way — an especially powerful message for little girls who are all too often shamed, or made to feel self-conscious, about their bodies at early ages.

"Your eyes: Use them to see the good in people and each day," Kotb writes to Hayley.

Your ears: Listen for small words of wisdom from those around you (and to music that lifts you up)."

"Your smile: Share it often.

Your hands: Lend them and hold mine whenever you need to.

Your belly: It will get tickled a lot by the pompoms I'll be shaking for you constantly.

Your brain: No one cares what it weighs or if another brain "wore it better" so value it and share the best of it.

"Your back: I've got it; always."

Hopefully, when Hayley is older, and able to understand the letter, she'll take the words to heart, and it will help her appreciate the beauty within and the love and support of the people around her. This letter will also hopefully touch other little girls who read it.

Others who've participated in Today's series include Dascha Polanco, Savannah Guthrie, and Ashley Graham

"Confidence isn't something you're born with; it's something you have to work on. Over time, I've really just looked in the mirror and told myself: You are bold. You are brilliant. You are beautiful," Graham writes.
