Hailee Steinfeld Offers Her Best Life Advice, And Why Women Should Be Proud To Be Like 'Most Girls'

"I've said this before and I'll say it again ... find your light."

At just 20 years old, Hailee Steinfeld — singer, actress, and, recently, eyewear entrepreneur — has certainly been busy. Steinfeld recently released the music video for her song "Most Girls," which reminds women, no matter who they are or what they do, that they are beautiful in their own way. She's also starring in Pitch Perfect 3, set to release later this year.

Her ambition is evident in a recent video interview with Refinery29's Arianna Davis, where Steinfeld offers up some insight into her life, her music, as well as quality life advice we should all hear.

In terms of music, Steinfeld tells Davis she can't even remember when she first fell in love with all its different genres.

"It was so early on in my life," she says. "I grew up in a household [where] all different genres of music were playing ... Music's just always been such a huge part of my life and it's always been part of my plan. And wanting to record my own music, write my own music, and perform."

Check out some of our other favorite moments from the interview and watch it all unfold in the video below:

1. "I've said this before and I'll say it again ... find your light. Find what makes you happy and don't let anybody tell you that it's not right for you, because if it is what makes you happy then it can never be the wrong thing."

2. "'Most Girls' sort of came from the experience of seeing ... a guy complimenting a girl by saying 'they're not like most girls'... it just occurred to me that it's really not much of a compliment."

3. "Most women, all women, girls, are amazing and intelligent, and have a story, and have something to offer. I'm more aware of that now than I think I've ever been."
