Gwyneth Paltrow And Jessica Alba Offer Powerful Life Advice In A Video Interview, And We Should All Be Paying Attention

"You can't make new old friends."

Sometimes, our favorite celebrities offer up the best advice. Last year, we heard Zendaya when she offered up the best thing she's ever learned on Access Hollywood. And last December, we shared a few laughs with Anna Kendrick as she shared more life advice in a video for BuzzFeed.

Now, in another BuzzFeed video, Gwyneth Paltrow and Jessica Alba sit face to face and ask each other questions surrounding their 20s, their morning routines, exercise, beauty tips, and other life advice worth hearing.

For example, when asked what every woman should do in their 20s, Paltrow says she thinks women should try living in Manhattan, even if for a short period of time. And while this isn't always feasible, it's what she says after that's perhaps most important:

"I would've loved to have the opportunity to start my self-exploration earlier, in my 20s. I feel like I really had my head up my ass until I was about 38," she says.

The two also talk relationships, and Paltrow asks Alba if she believes in soul mates.

"I did when I was younger ... [and then] I just didn't after my first breakup," she responds. "And then when I met my husband, I felt like I had known him my whole life the day I met him. He was really familiar, and he felt like family."

And finally, Paltrow passes along the best piece of advice she's ever been given, which happened to be words from her father:

"You can't make new old friends," she says, adding that you can apply it to a lot of different scenarios, and it reminds us that we should value our time and commitments.
