These Guys Invented Shoes That Grow With The Child Who Wears Them

A design so simple, yet so life-changing.

"We believe in practical compassion," begins Because International's video "Next Order of The Shoe."

And the people of this organization practice what they preach, as they have created one innovative product that is "a perfect fit" for impoverished children around the world — a shoe that grows.

"It grows five sizes and lasts five years," says a man in Because International's video. "There's a small and a large. And with these two sizes a child can always have a pair of shoes that fit, from kindergarten to ninth grade."

A design so simple, yet so life-changing.

Because International hopes to get as many shoes out to as many kids as possible — a noble cause, as there are an estimated 20 million children in Sub-Saharan Africa alone without shoes.

"Shoes might seem like a small thing, but they make a big difference in the health and well-being of a child, putting them in a position to have every chance to succeed," says another man in the video.

According to Soles 4 Souls, one of the many advantages of shoes is that they help stop the spread of parasitic diseases — something that afflicts about 1.4 billion people worldwide.

See how it works?

And though there are several organizations, like Soles 4 Souls and Shoes That Fit, dedicated to fitting children in developing countries with footwear, none employ such a simple, cost-effective and sustainable design as Because International's incredible growing shoe.

Because International's shoes are in such high demand, they need donations to get more.

Through grassroots networks, churches and organizations that work with children, Because International has been able to distribute their product. But now they are asking for help raising money for another order of shoes.
