Google Created A Video To Showcase 2016's Most Searched Topics Around The World

It might just give you some hope for 2017.

With the new year less than two weeks away, everyone is reflecting on the biggest moments of 2016. YouTube recently looked back on the past year and reminded us of some of 2016's coolest videos and we learned the top 10 most Instagrammed places of 2016 thanks to GQ. Now, Google is here with its own video highlighting the most popular searches by people around the world in 2016

In just two minutes, we're reminded of all we've been through this year. It starts off by showing us some of the negative parts of this past year. That includes the extremely contentious U.S. election, Brexit, the Orlando nightclub shooting, the chaos surrounding the Black Lives Matter protests, and the ongoing war in Syria. But then, it reminds us of all the positive moments we had this past year, too.

We hear uplifting words from celebrities such as Stephen Colbert, Ellen DeGeneres, and Lin-Manuel Miranda. We see clips of countries welcoming in refugees, peaceful protests, Simone Biles incredible Olympic performance, the Chicago Cubs winning the World Series after 108 years, and, of course, some of 2016's most viral videos. In the background, America's Got Talent winner Grace VanderWaal sings "Light the Sky" to make sure you've got chills while you watch.

We may be glad to see 2016 go, but this video serves as a reminder that it wasn't all bad.
