Gina Rodriguez Danced Her Way Into A $10,000 Donation For Breast Cancer Research On 'Ellen'

What an entrance!

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. In honor of the month, we will be highlighting the stories of those affected, as well as the people who come to their aid and help bring awareness to the issue.

Last month, Jessica Biel set the bar for celebrity entrances on The Ellen DeGeneres Show when she performed a Dirty Dancing tribute, complete with that iconic lift. It gave the host an idea for her partnership with Ulta Beauty during Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, and actress Gina Rodriguez was happy to participate.

As part of the "Ultimately Beautiful Entrance Challenge," DeGeneres is rewarding her guests' most creative entrances with donations to Breast Cancer Research. Rodriguez opted to perform a salsa routine (she's professionally trained), and she chose a pretty great soundtrack — Lin-Manuel Miranda's "Almost Like Praying," a song on which the actress is featured and which benefits Puerto Rico hurricane relief.

DeGeneres rewarded the Jane the Virgin star for her moves with a $10,000 donation. "That was an amazing entrance," she told her.

Of course, DeGeneres couldn't let Rodriguez leave without putting her producer Andy Lassner through a little bit of embarrassment first. Lassner donned his most eye-catching shirt to get a salsa lesson from the actress. As usually happens when "Average Andy" learns something new, the host couldn't stop laughing.

To reward the pair for their performance, DeGeneres announced another $10,000 donation for Puerto Rico.
