Dad Follows Bedtime Instructions Way Too Literally, Making A Hilarious Parenting Fail

"Really, dude?"

Father Aaron Cade followed his partner Ashlie Nicole Williams' bedtime instructions for their 2-year-old daughter, London, to the letter ... but managed to mess it up in the most hilarious way.

According to Buzzfeed News, Williams was busy washing dishes when Cade came home and told her London had fallen asleep in the car ride. "...  So I told him to just put her in the bed, and I'd wake her and bathe her later," she told the publication. "He said 'OK' and left the kitchen."

After finishing the dishes, Williams went upstairs to check on London.

And this is what she found:

While Cade had followed Williams' instructions to "just put her in the bed," he may have taken it a bit too literally.

Realizing their miscommunication, Williams explained, "I literally walked out of the room to laugh because I didn't want to wake her up. I turned the light out and left her there." Then, she reportedly looked at Cade and said, "Really, dude?" He just stared blankly back at her.

"I couldn't be mad because he did EXACTLY what I asked," Williams added. Finding the sitcom-esque humor all too relatable, Williams decided to share the moment on Twitter. Since its posting on October 12, the tweet has received more than 100,000 likes and 40,000 retweets.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, many Twitter users replied to the tweet, joking about how "simple" and "straightforward" the male mind is, while others defended Cade for "doing his best okay."

While London may have slept through the moment that sparked her rise to viral Twitter fame, this looks like one hilarious bedtime story she'll be told over and over again.
