U.S. Marine Surprises Girlfriend With Proposal On HGTV’s ‘Fixer Upper’

Fans definitely didn't see this coming.

While they're still entertaining to watch, we often know what to expect from an episode of our favorite reality TV shows these days. For example, on HGTV's home improvement show Fixer Upper, we always expect that the renovations will be absolutely stunning.

But we certainly didn't anticipate the show's February 27 episode would end with a surprise wedding proposal. During the episode, former U.S. marine TJ and his girlfriend Stephanie enlisted the help of Fixer Upper hosts Chip and Joanna Gaines to update their home in Waco, Texas.

After revealing the beautiful renovations, Chip turned to the excited couple and said, "We hope you love the house. We hope this kickstarts the rest of your life."

That was the perfect segue for TJ to pop the question.

TJ turned to Stephanie and pulled out a ring from his pocket. "I just love you so much, and I know we've been on a lot of great adventures and I think this marks the beginning of our greatest adventure," the U.S. marine said. "Will you marry me?"

Stephanie, overcome with tears and joy, happily replied, "yes!"

Joanna was also super touched by this precious moment. The host tearfully hugged the soon-to-be-bride and congratulated her. "This is so exciting,' she said. "What a gift!"

Together, all four of them celebrated the beginning of the couple's next chapter in life on the porch of the newly remodeled starter home.

"What a beautiful start to the rest of your life," Chip said. "We both sincerely hope you live here happily ever after."

Fans could hardly contain their emotions after the romantic moment aired.

Now, this is the kind of reality TV we love.
