This 3-Year-Old With Cerebral Palsy Is Our New Fashion Icon

"Kid, you'll move mountains."

Mom Christina Smallwood and her daughter Finley share a glimpse into their life on their Instagram Fifiandmo — an account filled with fashion-forward outfits, yoga sessions, and family time.

Finley, 3, has Spastic diplegia cerebral palsy with overall Left-Side Weakness, according to Christina's blog. Christina explains:

"Spastic diplegia, historically known as Little's Disease, is a form of [Cerebral Palsy] that is a chronic neuromuscular condition of hypertonia and spasticity — manifested as an especially high and constant 'tightness' or 'stiffness' — in the muscles of the lower extremities of the human body, usually those of the legs, hips and pelvis." In November, Finley underwent SDR surgery to reduce the spasticity.

Now, the family continues to document their life on social media, garnering an Instagram following of over 60 thousand people. In some of their adorable posts, Finley shows us her trendiest outfits, oftentimes posing alongside her mother.

According to The Huffington Post, Christine started her blog "because she felt isolated as a new special needs mom. Her mission has since blossomed into an opportunity to spread awareness, connect with families that have similar stories and raise funds to alleviate the costs associated with Finley's therapies and surgeries."

If she does happen to inspire anyone along the way, she hopes it's only "to know that they have the power to do whatever they set their mind to do, and that happiness is a state of mind — not a set of circumstances," she tells A Plus in an email.

Recently, one Instagram user commented on a photo of Finley wearing a "Will Work For Fruit Snacks" tee with black sneakers and pink braids. "Hey Finley! You look beautiful, love seeing your posts Christina," @lizzie_mclachlan_ writes. "I too have [Cerebral Palsy] (mild though). Know that I believe and know that you have the determination to do anything you want to! And being a little different and doing things a little differently to other people is OK!! No one is normal ... everyone is perfect in their own unique way!!"

According to Smallwood, Finley loves dressing up, but her favorite outfits are pajamas or anything with a tutu, "just like her mama."

In other posts, Finley can be seen sporting cactus-print swimwear and gladiator sandals, or a t-shirt reading: "Kid, you'll move mountains."

"It's becoming more frequent that Finley will get 'recognized' in public. I'm more so happy that people engage her and aren't intimidated by her disability," Smallwood says. "My hope is that people that are aware of us are kinder to other people they see out with a disability."
