Man With Multiple Sclerosis Touches His Grandson For The First Time. His Face Says It All.

"So much love in one picture."

When Erica Courson gave birth to a baby boy named Rivers it was a special day the family will remember forever. But one family member could not be present at that special moment. Courson's father-in-law missed the birth of his grandson due to his progressive multiple sclerosis (MS), a disease that affects the nervous system.

When Courson's father-in-law was finally able to meet his grandson a month later, the new mom captured the moment of love between him, her husband, his brother, and the baby, and shared the image on social media.

Courson's photo was then posted on the Love What Matters Facebook page where it quickly went viral.

"This is the moment my father-in-law met his grandson for the first time. He has progressive MS and is disabled. He was unable to be there when Rivers was born due to his disability. This is the very moment he finally met him after waiting for a month. My husband is holding Rivers while his brother holds my father-in-law's hand steady so he can touch Rivers. The look on his face is priceless. So much love in one picture. My father-in-law surrounded by his two sons, meeting his grandson."

Since the story was shared on April 22, it has received almost a 1,000 comments from people who were touched by the emotional photo.

A commenter said, "The love and adoration is very evident on all three of the men's faces!"

One Facebook user wrote, "A picture of love. As much as I see the grandfather's love for his grandson, I'm seeing the love of these two sons for their father. Brings tears to my eyes. This is what family is about."

People are also sharing stories of how the photos and experiences of their relatives with MS mean so much to them. One person wrote, "My dad has progressive MS too and has three grandchildren and one on the way. It's always the smallest of things that can be the most precious. What an amazing moment to be cherished always, so much love in one photo."
