Incredible Video Of A Spaceship Exploding As It Tries To Land

Better luck next time.

Well, that could've gone better.

When SpaceX, the space exploration company founded by entrepreneur Elon Musk, launched a resupply ship to the International Space Station, the plan was to have the Falcon 9 rocket return to Earth and land on a platform floating approximately 200 miles off Florida's coast.

As you can tell from the above video, tweeted out by Musk, the rocket didn't exactly stick the landing.

As 14-story-tall ship descended upon the floating platform, the section's fins lost power causing the rocket to tip over and explode.

"Close but no cigar," Musk tweeted.

Unfortunately, close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades.
