Why This Mom Is A Real-Life 'Elf On The Shelf'

She gets around.

What started out as a funny Halloween costume has morphed into a new kind of Christmas tradition.

Self-dubbed "Elf Off the Shelf," Pennsylvania mom Julie Dezzi has taken her "Elf" Halloween costume to new extremes by pretending to be one in real life. Just like the doll that has captivated kids across the U.S., Dezzi can be found pretty much anywhere causing mischief.

When Dezzi first wore it to her chidlren's school, she's a mother of two kids, 8 and 5, her get-up was a hit.

"They hung me from monkey bars, swings..put me under tables. We laughed so hard," she told A+ in an email.

After that, she started a Facebook page posting photos of the places she has decided to pose so far. And unlike the real "Elf on the Shelf," Dezzi isn't trying to be Santa's watchwoman. She just wants people to smile.

"I really want people to not take things and life so seriously," she said. "There is so much in this world to be sad about between the  media stories, peoples own struggles, stress and loss...that you really need to make a conscious effort to stop and have a good laugh."

We couldn't agree more. Check out a few of her poses below!
