Olympian Donates Nikes To Every Baby Born At A Delaware Hospital After Winning Gold

Elena Delle Donne shared the victory with her hometown this past weekend.

Olympic basketball gold medalist Elena Delle Donne and Nike made good on a promise to donate a tiny pair of Nike shoes to every baby born over the weekend at Christiana Hospital in Newark, Del.

According to Bleacher Report, Delle Donne and Nike had pledged to make the donation if Team USA took home their sixth consecutive Olympic gold, which they easily did by defeating Spain 101-72.

A photo of the adorably tiny Nike booties was posted to Facebook by Tim Furlong, a reporter for Philadelphia's NBC 10. The photo shows that the kid-sized kicks came with a card that reads, in part:

"It all starts now.
26 years ago, it started in Wilmington for a little champ just like you.
And today, Elena Delle Donne conquered the world.
Maybe, someday, that could be you.
Or maybe you'll choose to do something else.
There really are no limits to your potential."

Delaware Public Media reports that this is Delle Donne's first gold medal.
