Scientists Crack An Egg Underwater, And It Looks Awesomely Like A Sea Creature

A peculiar but enthralling experiment.

Beach season is upon us, which means you should be ready to spend some time in the water.

While you're there, you might consider trying this incredibly fun experiment from The Bermuda Institute of Ocean Sciences (BIOSstation), who first showed us the magic of an underwater egg in 2011. 

In the video below, a pair of scuba divers crack open an egg at 60 feet below the surface. Oddly enough, the raw egg looks like it belongs in the ocean, dangling and floating around as if it were a jellyfish or rare sea creature. 


Naturally, though, the egg scene ends with a little destruction:
