Donnie Wahlberg Had More Than One Reason To Give The Staff At A North Carolina Waffle House A $2,000 Tip

“[When] the staff treats me like a king, you better believe I treat them like queens!"

We doubt these waitresses expected to get a whopping tip from a celebrity — let alone even see one — when they started their shift at the local Waffle House in Charlotte, N.C. That's exactly what happened when Donnie Wahlberg rolled up earlier this week.

The Blue Bloods actor and New Kids on the Block member visited the restaurant Wednesday night around 11 p.m. — because he clearly knows Waffle House is best late at night — and documented his "Step by Step" experience with the surprised waitresses and excited locals.

Wahlberg was clearly "Hangin' Tough" and having a blast — declaring that there was "love in this Waffle House" — so much so that he ended up inviting everyone to the band's concert the following night, as they're wrapping up a tour with Boyz II Men and Paula Abdul.

The 47-year-old was patient while waiting for his meal and talked about everything from shooting the CBS police procedural earlier in the day, all of the yummy food at Waffle House, and even jamming out to R. Kelly's classic "Ignition (Remix)" playing in the background.

To cap off the experience, Wahlberg — whose family has a burger chain — left a massive tip of $2,000, which is like a 2,500-percent tip, and explained why.

"My mom waited tables, and my dad tended bars-- for years!" he captioned a selfie with the restaurant employees. "So, when I walk into a #WaffleHouse, and the staff treats me like a king, you better believe I treat them like queens!"

We're not saying you have to pull an over-the-top stunt like Wahlberg did, but it's always good to be reminded to treat those in the service industry with the respect and appreciation they deserve. After all, most of us have experience in that profession or have loved ones who did! We think "You Got It (The Right Stuff)," Donnie!
