Strangers Are Rallying Around This Brave Second Grade Boy With Hodgkin's Lymphoma

DOMinate cancer.

Dominic Alexander, a second grade boy in St. Clairsville, Ohio is fighting cancer after being diagnosed with Stage 3A Hodgkins Lymphoma last month. His parents, Erica and Corey, took to GoFundMe to tell their story and to raise money for the obscenely high costs associated with cancer treatment as their son faces up to six months of chemotherapy and other medical expenses.

"Corey and I have been by Dominic's side throughout this entire process," Erica Alexander writes on GoFundMe, "but our sick days are dwindling. We do not want to leave our son's side, but we are desperately trying to stay ahead of our mounting bills."

So far the Alexanders have raised just over $14,000 of a $30,000 goal.

The Times Leader Online describe Dominic as a bright kid who loves baseball and church and who is active on the swim team and Little Singers at St Clairsville Elementary School.

"Dom is a role model. A leader. He was Student of the Month this past month, so it shows you what kind of character he has," his teacher, Teri Coleman, told the Times Leader. "Always the first one on the classroom. Sets the tone for all the rest of the kids. Very happy. Helpful to all of his classmates. Helpful to one of the special boys who sits next to him and needs assistance. Just real bubbly."

St. Clairsville Elementary is also helping raise money for Dominic through T-shirt sales. The post below gives details about how to buy a shirt.
