Divorced Couple Each Tell Their Side Of The Story, While Wearing Noise-Cancelling Headphones

They've managed to find a friendship again.

Relationships have their ups and downs, and each person involved usually has their own version of events. In a series called Both Sides, by YouTube channel Jubilee, we see a number of couples at different stages of their relationship, telling their side of their love story. While one partner speaks, the other wears noise-cancelling headphones so as to create a safe space for complete candor.

In Jubilee's latest episode, a divorced couple in their 40s, Jimmy and Talitha, open up about their divorce, the way it has affected their lives, their positive memories together, and their first impressions.

"We were in college," Talitha begins, adding that they both worked for their school's newspaper. "And he came running in ... and I don't know, there was just something about him that I liked ... just something about his presence."

Jimmy adds that he knew how special Talitha was when she would laugh at all his jokes.

"We have two beautiful daughters right now, and I wouldn't want anybody else to be the mother of my children."

At some points, the pair takes off their headphones, and speak directly to one another.

"I regret not telling you, in a really productive way, what I needed most," Talitha tells Jimmy. "A partnership. To walk next to each other."

And finally, the couple talks about how they managed to become friends again, and become the best versions of themselves.

"We're really obsessed with not giving up," Talitha says.

And though it's clearly an emotional experience, we hope that this exercise has been cathartic for them, and perhaps other couples going through similar situations too.
