The Two Of Them Went Through Some Pretty Tough Times. Now He Has Released A Short Movie As A Tribute To His Dog's Life.

Heart officially broken.

Ben Moon, a Portland-based photographer and cinematographer, has just released a short movie titled "Denali" and it absolutely has us in tears.

Named after Moon's dog, who died last year at the age of 14, the movie is Moon's tribute to his four-legged companion. It's shot from Denali's perspective and tells the story of the dog's adventurous life with his owner — from traveling, "pretending to be a giant stinky butterfly," "helping Ben find girlfriends" to his final days.

Moon adopted Benali back in 1999. Five years later, the photographer was diagnosed with stage three colorectal cancer, which he successfully battled with Benali at his side.

"If anyone had tried to take me of that hospital room, I would have bitten their face," the narrator, supposedly the dog, says in the video.

Benali the dog was also diagnosed with cancer just last year, but unfortunately because of his old age, there was not much that could be done.

"There's no easy way to say goodbye to a friend, especially when they've supported you through your darkest times," the video's description on Vimeo explains.

Everyone needs a friend like that.
