You're Bound To Feel Empowered After Seeing This New Demi Lovato Video

"You have to practice every day..."

Last month, Demi Lovato released her new album Confident that's all about being true to yourself. The hit single of the same name definitely shows Lovato is feeling comfortable in her own skin, but she wanted to find out what her fans had to say about being confident.

So, she asked them. In her new #Confident Confessions video, she asked fans what confidence means to them. Their answers have us feeling empowered and a little teary-eyed.

"So many people are so serious and they have all of these things that they think is what they should act like," one fan said. "Really we should just all be ourselves, have a great time, and not care what other people say about you."

Another fan believes people have different things to offer and they should share whatever that may be with the rest of the world.

"It means just embracing yourself, what you have to offer," she said. "Just show it off."

One fan shared the struggles he faced with his weight and his peers.

"It's kind of hard going to high school and you're overweight," he said. "So, I remember a couple times when I had to just put a stop to however I was feeling and really search deep and be like I'm not going to let this bother me anymore. I have to stand up for myself. If people don't like it, then they have a problem. I don't."

The fan that had us grabbing for tissues was definitely this guy, though.

"Her music has really inspired me a lot, actually helping me come out and pretty much tell the whole world this is me," he said. "Either accept me or not."

Even someone as famous and talented as Lovato has struggled with feeling confident. In the video, she says that working on this album meant gaining confidence and working on music that would show her authentic self. She knows it's not easy.

"You have to practice every day to learn to love yourself and believe in yourself," she said. "It's not something that happens overnight. It's something that you work for and you work towards."
