This 'Sex And The City'-Inspired Drag Queen Is Spreading Positivity, And Getting It Back In Return

The project is Sarah Jessica Parker approved, too.

They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, so it only makes sense that Sarah Jessica Parker is a fan of Dan Clay's drag queen recreations of Carrie Bradshaw's iconic looks from Sex and the City. The New York City resident, who first dressed as the beloved TV character last Halloween, seems to get a big hug from the internet whenever he posts a new side-by-side look.

And this, for anyone who frequently reads comments anywhere online, is something quite rare.

"All the comments were so so kind, and I still had all these pictures left from our little West Village photo shoot, so I decided to keep it going for a bit," Clay told Huffington Post about the birth of his drag persona. "I posted a few more pics, even trying to capture Carrie's classic narration style. I always thought it would just sort of fade away — [but] it never did!"

So, with each and every split photo between Bradshaw and Dragshaw, Clay pens a deep, Carrie-esque caption and nails the fashion, pose, and attitude of the original perfectly in the recreation. And, for many followers, this has clearly been a joyous experience and that reflected back on him through the comments.

"This is fabulous and perfectly timed to how I feel right now," one user wrote.

"Wow!!! Constantly blown away by your work! Always look forward to your posts," another wrote.

"This has to be one of my favorite outfits from the show. And you nailed it! Also you are amazing," someone else wrote.

This, by the way, is a very small sampling of comments all from one photo. This one:

"People kept on saying really kind things about the pictures and the captions," Clay added, revealing how SJP and the show's costume designer Patricia Field gave their blessings. "The internet isn't always full of positivity and love, and this seemed to spread both. Made people smile, gave them a little boost, a reason to connect with friends. It was so cool to have this opportunity to spread a little joy!"

Lucky for us, Clay has no plans to stop the homage fun anytime soon. After all, we need this and there is plenty material to go off of for quite some time.

Let's take a look at some of Clay's best moments as Carrie Dragshaw:
