Dad Photoshops Daughter Into 'Marginally Dangerous' Situations, And Helps To Raise Awareness For An Important Cause

Do not try this at home. Ever.

Take one look at the photos on Stephen Crowley's Instagram and you'll get a good idea of what not to do with your kids.

The Dublin-based designer and dad of course knows allowing his 18-month-old daughter Hannah to sit next to a lit stove while holding a large sharp knife is a tragedy waiting to happen. But he also knows how funny such shocking images can be once people realize they're just Photoshopped.

Crowley shared some of the photos on Reddit where they went viral, gaining more than 1.3 million views. "I've been photoshopping my kid into marginally dangerous situations, nothing unbelievable, but enough to make people think 'Wait... did he really?'" he captioned the images.

While the images are entertaining, Crowley also hopes to use the bit of internet fame to raise awareness about the importance of bone marrow donors and stem cell donations — a cause near and dear to his heart as Hannah has a rare condition called hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (HLH). Due to HLH, Hannah needed a bone marrow transplant. She underwent chemotherapy and was in and out of the hospital for months. Eventually, she received the transplant she needed from an anonymous donor and her health improved.

Because Hannah spent most of the first year of her life battling HLH, Crowley loves taking tons of photos of her doing normal, everyday baby stuff. But he also thought it might be fun to trick his family members into thinking Hannah was in precarious situations without actually putting her in any danger.

Crowley hopes the images will inspire people to register for Be The Match, an organization that connects bone marrow donors with people in need.
