These Glow In The Dark Trees Are The Future Of Street Lamps

The future is here.

Imagine a world where street lamps didn't exist.

Pretty dark, right? Actually, maybe not. Dutch artist and architect Daan Roosegaarde has tried to combine aspects of glowing marine life and the chloroplast of a tree.  In doing so, he wants to create a substitue — one that is far more aesthetically pleasing and enviroment-friendly — for street lamps.

The endeavor is called bioglow, and it is sufficiently awesome. Check out the video above to get a stronger idea and meet the man behind this futuristic alternative for light.
