This Is London! Cosplayers Storm Trains Dressed As '300' Spartans.

Every commute should be this entertaining.

"Go tell the Spartans, passerby, that here, obedient to their laws, we lie" is the epitaph written by the poet Simonides to commemorate the courage shown by the vastly-outnumbered 300 Spartans led by their king, Leonidas, in the Battle of Thermopylae against an army of Persians.

The 300 would probably be known only to military strategists and historians, were it not for the 2006 film by Zach Snyder that brought Frank Miller's graphic novel to life.

Last month, the Spartans were brought to life yet again. This time, however, they were not on the silver screen, but rather in the London Underground as part of a mass cosplay.

Imgur user bluejaylife captured the phalanxes of spear-wielding troops in a fantastic gallery.

We are honored to show you those pictures here.

Can only imagine what commuters thought.

A bit skeptical about the first Spartan's hair.

"With your shield or upon it." - Spartan mother's admonition to her son.

Apparently spears are okay with the authorities in the tube.

In formation, each man's shield would also protect the man next to him.

Is she nervous or flattered?

No Spartan "man-spreading" visible here.
