This Woman Shared A Photo Of Herself Breastfeeding At Her Own Wedding And Proved Moms Can Do Literally Anything

This wedding's interruption was a welcome one.

Tons of unexpected events can throw a wrench in a wedding ceremony. But for one bride, Christina Torino-Benton, her special day's interruption was a welcome one.

While in the middle of getting married to her now husband Danny Benton, she stopped to breastfeed their 6-month-old daughter, Gemma. Having missed her nap, the little girl was hangry.

Because Torino-Benton doesn't pump or bottle feed, breastfeeding was her only option. "When she started crying I couldn't focus on my wedding," Torino-Benton told the Daily Mail. "[But] once I got her in my arms, I was able to calm down and focus.  A lot of people think that my feeding her mid ceremony was a bother, but actually it was nice having her up there with us. She is always a joy to have around."

The wedding photographer grabbed a snapshot of daughter and mother beaming as the ceremony continued.

Torino-Benton's wide smile shows her wedding day was one of the happiest of her life — and for more reasons than she could have imagined.

She then shared the picture on the Breastfeeding Mama Talk Facebook page with the caption: "That moment when you're getting married and your baby gets hungry ;) feeling SO proud of myself! Fighting that good fight!"

Besides being "liked" nearly 8,000 times, the picture has also inspired other moms to share their own mid-wedding breastfeed photos.

Over the past few years, an increasing number of moms have used social media to empower, normalize, and desexualize public breastfeeding.

Last month, a wedding guest's post went viral for breastfeeding her son at the reception, but breastfeeding your daughter in the middle of your own ceremony — that takes the (wedding) cake.
