Christina Aguilera Started Her Long-Awaited Tour By Doing Something Special For Two Fans

"I have a really special surprise that's happening tonight."

It's an exciting time to be a Christina Aguilera fan, as she just kicked off her new Liberation Tour — her first in 10 years. During the first show in Hollywood, Florida, this week, the singer took a moment to give back to two of her fans by inviting them on stage with her for a heartwarming proposal.

"I have a really special surprise that's happening tonight," Aguilera told the crowd in a video from the show, before asking Ben Lear and Mike Kontomanolis to join her. She handed Lear the microphone as Kontomanolis became emotional.

"I could not have imagined you could have a better moment than [with] this woman, who has inspired you throughout your whole life and has brought you so many things," Lear said, according to E! News. "Six years ago, you proposed to me and you gave me the opportunity to say yes. Tonight, in front of Christina, I'm going to ask you the same question."

He then got down on one knee and revealed an engagement ring. Kontomanolis accepted, and Aguilera told them, "I wanted to share and dedicate this special moment to two people who have been tried and true through my life and supported me." She revealed that Kontomanolis had been a volunteer on her Back to Basics Tour.

Kontomanolis told E! News that Aguilera had asked fans to share their "love stories," and Lear's submission was the one chosen. "Christina's team contacted him and made it happen. It was magical. I was so emotional! He talked to her tour manager and we then met Christina at the meet and greet, but I wasn't aware of any of this until it happened."

After the proposal, Aguilera told the crowd that she wanted to turn it into a "wedding reception," and began performing her song "Let There Be Love." The couple took to Instagram the next day to share a few photos and talk to followers in a video message (above) in which they thanked Aguilera.

"We are still on a high from last night, and Ben, thank you so much. It was such an amazing experience," Kontomanolis said in the clip. "Christina Aguilera, thank you again for everything. The tour was amazing. Good luck on the rest of it, and we love you."
