Chelsea Clinton Is Making A Habit Of Defending Young Trumps

"They’re kids and deserve to not be your clickbait."

Chelsea Clinton isn't having it. The daughter of former president Bill Clinton knows firsthand what it's like to live every moment in the spotlight. Still, she is adamant about giving presidential children (and grandchildren) privacy.

On March 15, as tabloids churned out articles on a Trump family scandal, Clinton stepped up to defend the youngest Trumps with a tweet that got straight to the point. "Please respect the privacy of President Trump's grandchildren. They're kids and deserve to not be your clickbait. Thank you."

This isn't Clinton's first time speaking up on behalf of other children and grandchildren of American presidents. In fact, not long ago, Clinton spoke up for another former first daughter, Malia Obama.

"Malia Obama's private life, as a young woman, a college student, a private citizen, should not be your clickbait. Be better," Clinton wrote last year after a video taken of the 19-year-old at a Harvard football game leaked.

Her tweet followed one by Ivanka Trump who wrote, "Malia Obama should be allowed the same privacy as her school aged peers. She is a young adult and private citizen, and should be OFF limits."

In January, Clinton also defended Trump's 10-year-old son Barron after an SNL writer tweeted an offensive joke about the young man. But this post wasn't as direct as the tweet she wrote Thursday:  "Barron Trump deserves the chance every child does-to be a kid."
