Celebrities Share Their Empowering Reasons For Supporting The Women's March

Turns out Hollywood is full of nasty women.

On Saturday, as thousands gathered across the country and around the world at demonstrations coinciding with the Women's March in Washington, D.C., celebrities took to social media to express their support for the event. Using the hashtag #WhyIMarch, stars and civilians alike shared what brought them out to the demonstrations.

"So that our daughters will know their bodies are their own. So our sons embody gentle strength. So they can dismiss both labels #WhyIMarch," Lena Dunham wrote on Twitter. Dunham marched in D.C. alongside stars such as Janelle Monae, Scarlett Johansson, and America Ferrera, but celebrities participated in demonstrations around the country, including Chelsea Handler leading a sister march through the streets of Park City, Utah, during the Sundance Film Festival.

Below, check out some of our favorite messages of hope and inspiration from Hollywood during the march.
