Cardi B Apologized For Canceling Her Shows, But Fans Say She Has Nothing To Be Sorry About

"You won’t regret your decision."

Cardi B was all set to go on tour with Bruno Mars this fall. But in an Instagram post from July 26, the "Bodak Yellow" rapper revealed that she has decided to drop out to spend more time with her daughter, Kulture Kiari Cephus.

The 25-year-old welcomed her first child with rapper Offset on July 10. She explained in her recent post that the time between the birth and going on tour isn't enough. "As of today, I've decided I won't be joining Bruno on tour this fall," she writes. "I thought that after giving birth to my daughter that 6 weeks would be enough time for me to recover mentally and physically."

She revealed that she's not ready physically nor is she ready to leave Kulture behind because doctors have advised against taking her on tour.

The announcement has received an outpouring of support with people praising the "Finesse" rapper for her decision. Her tour mate Bruno Mars was one of the first to post a message in support of her decision.

Parents took to social media to empathize with the rapper and share their returning-to-work stories:

"Coming from a mom, I knew this." one person wrote on Instagram. "Girl, child birth takes a lot out of you, but for such a precious gift. Great decision, mama."

"Best decision ever. Most people wouldn't turn down the money or opportunity to go on tour with Bruno Mars," another Instagram user said. "Good for you. Your baby girl needs you more than your fans do."

"Never ever, ever regret your decision to stay at home with your child," one said. "I was a stay-at-home mother and I never regret a day of it."

Earlier this year, Cardi B faced some criticism when she revealed her pregnancy on Saturday Night Live, with some saying she was "threatening" her current streak of success. But she continues to prove that she — and mothers in general — don't have to sacrifice a family for a career or vice versa, having just this month become the first female rapper to score two No. 1 hits on Billboard's Hot 100 singles chart.
