How Britney Spears Is Using The VMAs To Help Her Home State Of Louisiana

If you donate, you could win something very cool.

First Taylor Swift donated $1 million to Louisiana flood relief. Now Britney Spears is lending her own support to her home state by giving away some very cool prizes in exchange for donations.

Spears, who was raised in Kentwood, tweeted on Monday that she has teamed up with the Red Cross and Crowdrise to raise money for victims of the horrible flooding that has recently plagued the state. For every $10 you donate to the cause, you'll be entered to win either the outfit Spears wears during her performance at this weekend's MTV Video Music Awards or a trip to New York City to meet her at the show.

You can visit Spears' Crowdrise page to donate and enter for your chance to win.

Louisiana Gov. John Bel Edwards has called the flooding, which began August 12, "unprecedented." At least 13 people have died, and tens of thousands of homes have been damaged. Meanwhile, 102,000 people have reportedly registered for federal assistance as the state of emergency remains in effect until September 10.

According to Spears' Crowdrise page, more than 1,700 Red Cross workers are assisting with Louisiana flood relief, providing shelter and food to those who need it.
