Britney Spears Just Sold A Painting For $10,000, And The Money Will Go To A Good Cause

"The flowers in my painting represent a new beginning."

How much would you pay for an original painting by Britney Spears? For Robin Leach, iconic host of Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous, the answer is $10,000. Leach also happened to be the auctioneer at the charity event where the painting was sold.

According to Us Weekly, the money raised from the auction will go to Vegas Cares, an organization which intends to commission a memorial to the victims of the recent shooting in Las Vegas.

Spears, who is reaching the end of a four-year residency in the city, created the painting in a video that went viral last month. The singer was depicted kneeling on a stool on the terrace of her home, adding brightly colored paint to two canvases. The video was amusingly set to Mozart's "Piano Sonata No. 11."

"I'm so proud to call Vegas my second home and I'm pleased to participate in this Vegas Cares show," Spears reportedly said in a video message for Monday's auction. "The flowers in my painting represent a new beginning, and it's in that spirit that we move forward. All the proceeds from the winning bid go to Vegas Cares Memorial Fund. I appreciate your kindness and your generosity. I love you, Vegas."

It's certainly not the first time Spears has given back. Last year, she helped raise money for flood relief in her home state of Louisiana through a contest to win her VMAs outfit or meet her at the show. She also hosted a cycling class in Las Vegas to benefit the Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation's ONE Year ONE Home Capital Campaign.

In fact, according to Us Weekly, just days before the auction sold her painting, Spears attended the opening of the Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation's Britney Spears Campus. It was named after as thanks for the $1 million she donated to the organization from ticket sales.
