This Woman's Creative Clothing Switch At A Theme Park Reveals A Sexist Double Standard

It's just a shirt.

A 22-year-old New Jersey woman shared the story of her recent experience at a theme park to reveal a potentially sexist double standard about clothing.

Bina Ramesh went to Six Flags Great Adventure with her friend, Adonis Blanco Jimenez, to celebrate her birthday in July. Upon reentering the theme park, Ramesh says she was stopped by a male security guard who asked a female guard to tell her that her top was "inappropriate for the park's standards."

"I was so upset and angry," Bina told "My mother saw me leave the house this morning and she didn't think it was inappropriate. And how could I have been let in earlier that day by a female guard? Now suddenly the rules have changed when there's a male guard paying closer attention to my cleavage?"

Ramesh said that the guards reportedly allowed a man wearing a see-through shirt into the park because "he's a boy and doesn't have boobs."

That's when Ramesh came up with a creative bait-and-switch trick to get past the security guards. She swapped shirts with her male friend in the parking lot and successfully reentered the park without getting stopped by security.

"We still live in a world of ridiculous double standards and sexism," Ramesh wrote on Facebook following the incident.

After her Facebook post went viral, Six Flags reportedly apologized to Ramesh and told her that the security team "did not use good judgment and there is no reason you should have been denied entry."

Ramesh also wrote on her Facebook page on Monday that she is thankful for all of the attention her story received.

"My intent on sharing this story was to receive acknowledgment from the park that I was unjustly treated and to prevent this type of situation from occurring in the future, which seems to have been accomplished," she wrote on Facebook. "This experience shed light on a serious improper judgment and training of policies to the park officers."
