Barack Obama Has Some Solid Advice For His Fellow Dads About Dancing

No "karate kicks" allowed.

Former President Barack Obama will be the first guest on former late-night host David Letterman's new Netflix interview series My Next Guest Needs No Introduction, which premieres this Friday on the streaming service. Based on a preview clip from the episode, it looks like Obama will be showing his funny side.

In the clip, Obama recalls dancing with Prince "three or four months before he died." He remembers the legendary singer inviting first daughter Sasha on stage, adding that she is an "excellent dancer."

"Then Sasha pulls me up, which surprises me, because she always mocks my dancing. I have dad moves," he admits, before offering some solid advice for fellow fathers who want to bust a move without looking embarrassing. "I think the key is what we call 'staying in the pocket.' "

The tip earns laughter from Letterman and the audience, as Obama elaborates, "You got to stay in the pocket, because I think everybody here knows dads who get out of the pocket, and they're trying stuff that they can't really pull off. They start doing, like, karate kicks."

The funny moment captured the internet's attention, with many on Twitter sharing how nostalgic it made them for Obama's time in office, and even recommending the former president's 2017 Spotify playlist. Just remember to keep it in the pocket when you dance along.

It's not the first time Obama has shown off his sense of humor since leaving office. He tried his hand at a Joe Biden meme for the former VP's birthday, and joked around with Prince Harry before their BBC interview last month. We can't wait to hear what else he has to say in this latest appearance.
