The Backstreet Boys Dressed As This Girl Group, And Their Choice Couldn’t Have Been Better

Here's why they spiced up our lives.

It feels like the '90s all over again — and in the best way possible. During a recent gig on the 2018 BSB Cruise to Turks and Caicos, the Backstreet Boys decided to ditch their boy band aesthetic for the "girl power" of the Spice Girls.

The guys — Nick Carter, Howie Dorough, Brian Littrell, A.J. McLean, and Kevin Richardson — dressed as their favorite girl group — made up of Victoria Beckham, Emma Bunton, Geri Halliwell, Mel B., and Mel C. — as well as performed a few of their jams such as "Wannabe," "Say You'll Be There," and "Spice Up Your Life."

"Celebrating all of the girl power that's kept us going for 25 years. #SpiceBoys #BSBCruise2018," the group wrote on social media alongside a photo of them in drag.

For the setup, here's how the guys dressed up: Carter as Bunton's Baby Spice with the blond wig, pigtails, pink slip dress, and white platform shoes; Dorough as Halliwell's Ginger Spice with a version of that iconic Union Jack dress, red hair, and red latex platform boots; Littrell as Mel C.'s Sporty Spice with layered red and orange tank tops, black sweatpants, and a brunette wig in a ponytail; McLean as Mel B's Scary Spice in the leopard look from head to toe with black platform boots; and Richardson as Beckham's Posh Spice in a black bob, all-black outfit, and oversized sunglasses.

Look out, RuPaul's Drag Race, the Backstreet Boys might just be coming to snatch a few trophies. After all, they were referred to as "The Spice Boys" back in the day and proved that, even though they may have been competing with them (and others such as NSYNC), they know when to support those who push for female empowerment like the Spice Girls.
