We Spoke To Chicken Soup For The Soul's Amy Newmark About Happiness And Self-Care This Election Season

It's a stressful time to be an American.

Amy Newmark knows a thing or two about staying happy.

Newmark is the publisher of the world-renowned Chicken Soup for the Soul book series. Over the course of her career, she's read thousands of inspirational Chicken Soup for the Soul stories, and she recently wrote her own book inspired by them: Simply Happy. It's a deep dive into living happily, confidently and positively.

Last week, Newmark came on A Plus's weekly Facebook live show "A Grain of Saul" to discuss how her happiness techniques might help Americans get through the 2016 election. As you may know, this election is seriously stressing out the average United States citizen: 52 percent of American adults say the election is a very or somewhat significant source of stress for them, and it's a phenomenon that crosses party lines.

Check out the video below to hear Newmark's thoughts on happiness and self-care in the midst of stressful situations.
