Here's What Happens When Celebrities Take Over For Amazon's Alexa

Gordon Ramsay, Cardi B, Rebel Wilson, and more step in when Alexa loses her voice.

The voice of Amazon's virtual assistant Alexa may not be music to anyone's ears, but the e-commerce site's new commercial might make you appreciate it a little more.

The ad opens with a woman brushing her teeth and asking Alexa, "What's the weather like today?" Alexa answers, "In Austin, it's 60 degrees with a chance —" before coughing and going silent.

After news about Alexa losing her voice spreads, CEO Jeff Bezos brings in a few replacements. The Alexa stand-ins include chef Gordon Ramsay, rapper Cardi B, actress Rebel Wilson, and more.

Ramsay is known for his savage unsolicited advice and hilariously blunt responses. Of course, he brought his temperament to the table as he took on the role of Alexa. So, when an unsuspecting user asks Alexa for a little help making his grilled cheese sandwich, he doesn't get the response he's looking for.

"Pathetic!" Ramsay replied. "You're 32 years of age and you don't know how to make a grilled cheese sandwich. Its name is the recipe, you %&@*!"

In another advertising spot, a teenager asks Alexa to call Ashley. Leslie Jones and JB Smoove have differing opinions on whether or not they should dial for him.

Both ads end with the real Alexa sporting her new voice. "Thanks, guys, but I'll take it from here," she says. The new voice has been altered to sound more human and less robotic. It's not a huge change, but it does make her sound a bit more conversational. The full ad will run during Super Bowl LII on February 4
