Aaron Carter Came Out As Bisexual And His Fans Reacted In The Best Way

"Coming out at any age is brave, no matter where you fall on the LGBT spectrum."

Aaron Carter is ready to open up about himself to the world.

The 29-year-old pop singer, best known for hit singles like "I Want Candy" and "Aaron's Party (Come Get It)" in the early 2000s, published a note on Twitter Aug. 5, publicly announcing that he's bisexual.

In the note, he said he knew he was attracted to both males and females at a young age, but it wasn't until he had an experience with another male at 17 that he fully realized his sexuality.

"This doesn't bring me shame," he said. "Just a weight and burden I have held onto for a long time that I would like lifted off of me."

Immediately after his announcement, fans have not stopped tweeting Carter encouraging messages to let him know that they love and support him.

The NOH8 Campaign, a nonprofit devoted to supporting LGBTQ marriage, as well as gender and human equal rights, also sent their support to Aaron.

Touched by the amount of positive messages from fans, Carter made sure to thank them the next day.
