7-Eleven Launches College Fund For Baby Born On 7/11, Weighing 7 Pounds 11 Ounces, At 7:11pm

It was an incredible coincidence.

A baby in Missouri was born serendipitously on July 11 at 7:11 p.m. and weighed 7 pounds and 11 ounces, drawing national attention for the unlikely string of 7/11 significance.

Now, the chain convenience store 7-Eleven says it's making a donation to J'Amie Brown's college fund.

"After catching wind of the incredible news, 7-Eleven decided to pledge $7,111 to the newborn's college fund to honor her entry to the world," 7-Eleven representatives told USA Today.

Brown's parents Rachel Langford and Johntez Brown told staffers at 7-Eleven about the coincidence. The news moved its way up the chain and eventually got the attention of the right people, who decided to donate to Brown's college fund.

Langford told USA Today there was even another layer to the madness: through her pregnancy, she claims that she saw the numbers 7 and 11 over and over.

"I thought it was weird at first, and I didn't know that (the numbers) meant so much," she said. "A lot of the times (during the pregnancy) I would look at the clock and it was 7:11."

7-Eleven also gave the new couple diapers and some other gifts for their new baby. The couple was thrilled by the news, and Langford said they were especially grateful for the college fund boost.

"It's hard for anybody to even get a trust fund for their children," told CNN. "To get a blessing like that, it just helps a lot."
