10 Crazy Celebrity Cameos In Films That Will Make You Watch Them Again

Actors, musicians and even directors.

Most cameo appearances involve a famous person appearing briefly in a movie, but sometimes we don't even notice they're there at all. And while their presence in the film might be small, the fact that they had one at all is huge.

Here's 10 cameos you probably missed, but will remember from now on:

1. Peter Jackson in "Hot Fuzz."

Long after Peter Jackson unleashed "The Lord of Rings" trilogy, Edgar Wright tapped him for a quick role in "Hot Fuzz." Jackson dresses up as Santa Claus and stabs Simon Pegg in the hand. Merry Christmas!

2. Ron Jeremy in "Ghostbusters."

When something is strange in the neighborhood, who ya gonna call? If you're "Ghostbusters" director Ivan Reitman, apparently you're gonna call adult film legend Ron Jeremy in for a cameo. He's in the crowd when the containment unit explodes. And no, Ron does not have a proton pack.

3. Huey Lewis in "Back to the Future."

While most people associate "The Power Of Love" by Huey Lewis and the News as the song Marty plays in "Back to the Future," they sometimes overlook that Huey Lewis had a cameo as an upset teacher who tells Marty's band that they are "too darn loud" for the school.

"I wish I had kept the glasses that I wore for my little cameo," Lewis said to io9.

4. Glenn Close in "Hook."

When you need someone to play a scruffy and swashbuckling pirate with a beard, you might as well ask an award winning actress. That's what Steven Spielberg did in "Hook" when he brought on Glenn Close to play Gutless the Pirate. Close, sporting a beard, played a man brilliantly.

5. Stephen Colbert in "The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug."

Stephen Colbert loved the Hobbit so much, he made a cameo appearance in one of the films. The late-night funny man was in the movie briefly and wore an awesome eye patch.

6. George Lucas in "Beverly Hills Cop III."

While George Lucas is known for creating the biggest movie trilogy in the history of cinema, he also had a brief cameo in the third movie of a lesser known trilogy. In "Beverly Hills Cops III," Lucas plays a theme park attendee who gets cut in line by Eddie Murphy. And the pig on his shirt makes it almost cringe-worthy to watch. May the force be with you to watch this one.

7. Bill Paxton in "Terminator."

See the punk with the blue hair in this shot from the "Terminator"? That's Bill Paxton in a short cameo who gets killed by the Terminator. Thus, Paxton might be the only person ever killed by the Terminator, Alien and Predator. That's a heck of a resume.

8. Christian Slater in "Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country."

Apparently, Christian Slater is a secret "Star Trek" nerd. He even accepted a minor role in a film (he woke up Captain Sulu) just to be part of the Federation.

9. Richard Branson in "Casino Royale."

Business mogul and founder of the Virgin Atlantic airline, Richard Branson, had a brief cameo role in a frickin' James Bond film. In "Casino Royale," Branson makes his appearance by getting frisked by airport security. Hopefully he's flying Virgin Atlantic.

10. Jim Carrey in "Liar Liar."

Jim Carrey proves that you can even have a cameo in a film that you are the star. In "Liar Liar," after he is being wheeled out by paramedics, he briefly appears in the background dressed up as his infamous Fire Marshall Bill character from the TV show "In Living Color." Carrey always finds a way to entertain even when he's not in the actual scene.
